The ‘Headway Hub’ is run by manager Karen Styles and her team of specialists and volunteers. Read on to find out more about Karen, and the charity’s’ dedicated board of trustees – their expertise and experience, and why they donate their time to Headway.
Chairman of Trustees and Management Board.I hope to assist with the strategic planning and the financial activity of fund raising for the charity working closely with the other Trustees. I’m also commited to increasing awareness of Headway AV and supporting Karen Styles and her team.
Trustee & TreasurerI look after all aspects of the charity’s finances on a voluntary basis; including book-keeping, preparing and paying invoices, operating payroll, and drafting annual accounts.
ManagerI am the central point of contact for all our clients, carers and the professionals that recommend our services. I enjoy organising the weekly activities; photography, cooking, creative writing and knitting etc. which help to develop different skills. I co-ordinate recommended personal plans and treatments and work with our therapists and advisors. I’m also the main point of contact for different agencies and service providers, fundraising, events and developing our volunteers.
TrusteeI am a nurse who has approximately 20 years experience working within the field of Neurology, trauma and orthopaedics, specialising in Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis.
TrusteeAs part of a new team of Trustees, to date I have managed the development of our first strategic plan and am working to develop our website and marketing activity. I am also working with my fellow colleagues to research and develop services for the full spectrum of Adult ABI survivors including the largest cohort of 18-30 year old males.
TrusteeI help organise events to fundraise for Headway. I support the strategic development of the service in partnership with the other trustees and Headway Manager Karen Styles. I also run a drop-in clinic for new or existing service providers to explore any issues they may have and sign post on accordingly.
